The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is allegedly planning to overturn the electoral mandate, especially in Plateau State, which the PDP earned through hard work.
During an ongoing press conference at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagun, alerted that the APC’s purported scheme involves manipulating compromised judges at the Court of Appeal to reverse votes in favor of the PDP and its candidates across various elections.
Earlier, Waffi TV revealed the PDP’s assertion about an alleged plan by some APC leaders to influence the Court of Appeal to review and reverse a judgment that ousted Senator Darlington Nwokocha of the Abia Central district. The court’s decision removed Nwokocha of the Labour Party and declared Col. Austin Akobundu of the PDP as the victor.
Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, emphasized that the Court of Appeal’s ruling was conclusive in the matter. Ologunagba urged INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Nwokocha, now invalidated, and to issue a new Certificate of Return to Akobundu as the rightful election winner.
