The House of Representatives expressed anger at the absence of the service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, during an interactive session scheduled for Thursday’s plenary.
Instead of appearing themselves, the security heads sent representatives.
The House had initially planned sectoral debates with the security chiefs, similar to other sectors in the country.
However, following a constitutional point of order by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, the House rejected the representatives and postponed the session.
They rescheduled the engagement for the following Tuesday, insisting that the service chiefs must attend the debate.
The service chiefs include General Christopher Musa (Chief of Defence Staff), Lt-General Taoreed Lagbaja (Chief of Army Staff), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar (Chief of Air Staff), and Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla (Chief of Naval Staff).
