Manchester City faced a significant setback as striker Erling Haaland suffered an ankle injury during his international duties with Norway.
The 23-year-old, who came off the bench in a friendly match, went down a few minutes before the end of the game, despite his team’s 2-0 victory.
Norway’s team doctor, Ola Sand, suggested that Haaland might have aggravated a previous ankle injury he had experienced before. Haaland has maintained his exceptional form from the last season, scoring 17 goals in 18 games across all competitions this term.
Haaland’s potential absence could impact City’s prospects of replicating their previous season’s treble-winning performance.
