Emirates Airline is set to initiate direct flights to Nigeria soon, as announced by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace. During the 2023 Dubai Airshow, Minister Festus Keyamo attended and revealed that Emirates Airlines disclosed this plan. Moreover, the Emirates Government approved Air Peace Airline to operate direct flights to Dubai’s main airport.
Additionally, Minister Keyamo engaged with Airline Executive’s management, led by CEO Dana Hatcic, expressing interest in establishing an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility in Nigeria. He also hinted at the possibility of hosting the inaugural Nigeria Air Show in November 2024, aiming for Nigeria to be the first African nation to organize such an event.
Moreover, the Minister explored cutting-edge technologies showcased by leading aviation and aerospace industries at the Dubai Airshow. This was part of his effort to advance his 5-Point Agenda for Nigeria’s aviation sector, focusing on infrastructure enhancement and promoting innovation in civil aviation technologies.
The Dubai Airshow, held from November 13th to 17th, 2023, witnessed significant global participation, including experts from prominent aviation and aerospace industries.
