Senator Abba Moro, a two-term representative of Benue South Senatorial District under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), assumed the role of Senate Minority Leader following his nomination by the opposition party in the Senate.
This transition occurred after Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon, representing Plateau North Senatorial District, was removed by the Appeal Court.
The Senate had previously designated the Minority leader position to the North Central region, and despite being new to the Senate, Senator Mwadkwon was nominated by the minority caucus. It’s noteworthy that the newly elected Minority leader, Senator Moro, previously served as the Minister of Interior during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
