The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, alongside the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, as well as the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, are currently in a closed-door meeting with members of the House of Representatives for a sectoral debate on national security.
This meeting follows the lawmakers’ criticism of the security heads for sending representatives instead of appearing themselves at a previously scheduled interactive session.
Today’s discussion involves the security heads outlining efforts to tackle the country’s security challenges, with Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla urging the National Assembly to enhance surveillance in specific areas to curb illegal activities like oil theft and pipeline vandalization.
