The Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, refuted any involvement with Zamalek concerning their open coaching position at the club.
Reportedly, Peseiro, identified by an Egyptian website, Kooora, as among the candidates who submitted applications for the position after Juan Carlos Osorio’s dismissal due to poor performance.
Despite his prior contract expiring in June, the 63-year-old signed a new one-year deal with the Nigeria Football Federation.
Addressing the speculation tying him to Zamalek in Egypt, the Portuguese coach affirmed his dedication to his present role with Nigeria, as stated to btolat.com.
“At the present, all my focus is on the Nigerian national team only,” he said.
“There are no negotiations from Zamalek in any case and I am not thinking about anything else.”
In spite of Peseiro’s dedication to the Eagles’ position, several football stakeholders have demanded the prompt dismissal of the Portuguese tactician due to the team’s dismal performance.
