Super Eagles Drop Two Places In Latest FIFA World Ranking

The Super Eagles have slipped two spots in the most recent FIFA world rankings, falling from 40th to 42nd place as per the latest update on FIFA’s website.

This decline is attributed to their underwhelming performance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where they had drawn 1-1 against both Lesotho’s Likuena and Zimbabwe’s Warriors.

Currently ranking third in their group, they trail behind Rwanda and South Africa. Despite this setback, Jose Peseiro’s team maintains the sixth position in Africa, with Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt leading the continent’s top five teams.
