Guardiola Predicts Man City Will Win Premier League

Pep Guardiola, showing confidence, believes Manchester City will clinch a record fourth consecutive Premier League title, despite a recent three-match winless streak.

The defending champions drew their last three league encounters against Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham, trailing three points behind leaders Arsenal prior to their upcoming match against Aston Villa.

City’s defensive vulnerabilities, conceding eight goals in the past trio of matches, pose a concern as they face a formidable challenge against Unai Emery’s Arsenal, who have secured victory in their last 13 consecutive home league games.

Acknowledging the need for defensive improvement after last season’s treble, Guardiola emphasized that despite defensive lapses, City is not losing many games. Expressing unwavering confidence, the City boss affirmed that despite recent setbacks, his team is poised to make history as the first English top-flight side to achieve four successive league titles.

“The motivation is to do it better,” he said at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday. “I learned from where I come from that if you want to win you have to do it better than the opponent.

“We have to do much better. We have to try and not concede chances, or goals.

“My feeling today is we will win the Premier League, if you ask me. If we play at the level of Liverpool or Tottenham we are going to win it again.

“The people don’t believe it after three draws but we are going to do it again, knowing it is not easy because no team have done it yet. That’s why the difficulty is there.”

City will face Villa Park without midfielder Rodri due to suspension, a period during which they suffered defeats in all three previous games he missed earlier this season.

On a positive note, John Stones is set to make a comeback, and Guardiola confessed that he might consider deploying the English international in midfield, stepping in for the absent Spaniard.
