Angola To Quit OPEC Over Oil Production Quota Disagreement

Angola announced its withdrawal from the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) due to a disagreement regarding production quotas.

This decision follows the recent move by the oil cartel to reduce output for the upcoming year, as reported by AFP today.

“Angola has decided to leave. We think the time has come for our country to be more focused on our goals,” Mineral Resources and Petroleum Minister Diamantino Azevedo told state broadcaster TPA.
