Paul Pogba’s scheduled anti-doping hearing on January 18 has been rescheduled to an unspecified date, as disclosed by a source to AFP on Wednesday.
The Juventus midfielder’s legal team made a request that was accepted by Italy’s anti-doping tribunal, yet neither the tribunal nor Pogba’s representatives were willing to provide any comments when approached.
The talented French midfielder and former Manchester United player potentially faces a lengthy suspension after the hearing at the NADO tribunal in Rome.
In September, Pogba was provisionally suspended, and in December, prosecutors urged for a four-year ban. However, he might reduce the requested ban by half if he proves no intentional doping. Additionally, if he demonstrates that the banned substance was taken outside of competition and had no impact on his performance, he might face only a few months’ suspension.
His representatives previously stated that the testosterone originated from a dietary supplement prescribed by a doctor he consulted in the United States.
