The Federal Government has announced public holidays for December 25th, 26th, 2023, and January 1st, 2024, to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Day, respectively. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Honorable Minister of Interior, conveyed these greetings on behalf of the government, extending warm wishes to Christians and all Nigerians both at home and abroad.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged Christians to embody the values of Jesus Christ, emphasizing humility, service, compassion, and patience. Stressing the significance of peace and security for economic growth, he assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration remains committed to implementing effective measures to safeguard lives and property.
The Minister urged vigilance, advising Nigerians to report any suspicious individuals or activities to the appropriate security agencies. He emphasized the need for discipline during the festive season to ensure the safety of communities and the nation as a whole.
Additionally, Tunji-Ojo urged citizens to maintain focus, expressing optimism that the year 2024 will usher in a brighter future aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
