Yuletide: FRSC Warns Motorists Against Expired Tires, Overspeeding

The FRSC in Abia State has cautioned vehicle owners and transporters against using expired tires and overspeeding during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. Bridget Asiku, the acting Sector Commandant of the Abia State Command, issued this warning, emphasizing measures in place to prevent accidents during the festive period.

Asiku highlighted the risks of using expired or substandard tires, mentioning their potential to cause vehicles to overturn while in motion. Additionally, the Deputy Corps Commander listed various factors contributing to road accidents, such as overspeeding, alcohol consumption, overloading, failure to use seat belts, phone usage while driving, impatience, and driving at night without proper lighting.

The FRSC has deployed personnel across strategic roads in Abia State to ensure accident-free travel during the Yuletide season. As part of safety measures, drivers are advised to abide by traffic regulations, observe road signs, and install speed limiters on their vehicles.
