Vice President Kashim Shettima paid a visit on Wednesday to those displaced by the Christmas Eve attack in the Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
Shettima arrived at Yakubu Gowon Airport, Jos, via plane at 1:00 pm, as part of his assessment of areas hit by assailants in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs. He was welcomed by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and former governors Simon Lalong and Joshua Dariye.
At the mini-stadium in Bokkos LGA, displaced individuals awaited the VP’s arrival, carrying placards bearing messages such as ‘Our Human Rights Must Be Protected’.
Notably, the Christmas Eve attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs resulted in the tragic loss of over 110 lives by gunmen.
