First Bank of Nigeria, a leading private-sector financial institution in Africa, has cautioned its extensive customer base about the threat of scams. This warning was conveyed through the bank’s former Twitter handle, emphasizing the critical importance of remaining vigilant against scams.

The bank strongly advised the public to stay alert and vigilant, emphasizing that it never redirects customers to WhatsApp groups or Telegram platforms for grievance resolution.

As Nigeria’s oldest bank established in 1894, it reiterated the paramount importance of not disclosing personal information, such as PINs, passwords, or OTPs, as the bank would never request such confidential details.
