On Thursday, the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy commenced the application process for teaching positions within the Build-A-Thon initiative program. Spearheaded by Minister Bosun Tijani, the program, introduced in December, aims to encourage early technology engagement among senior secondary students.
Scheduled for a four-day duration in January 2024, the program anticipates the participation of 1,500 students from 150 schools across Owerri, Maiduguri, and Abeokuta. The ministry made the call for teacher applications public on X date, emphasizing the need for forward-thinking educators, teachers, and enthusiasts capable of nurturing the next wave of tech innovators in secondary education.
Prospective candidates with interest and qualifications are encouraged to apply via the program’s website. Minister Bosun Tijani commented on the recent launch, expressing, “The Build-A-Thon initiative aligns with our strategic vision to foster early technology adoption, thereby shaping the future leaders of innovation.”
He further outlined the program’s objectives, which encompass showcasing innovative projects, acknowledging accomplishments, cultivating future collaborations, inspiring upcoming leaders, and advocating continuous learning.
