North Korea Leader Directs Military To Hasten War Readiness Against U.S

North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, has instructed the nation’s military, nuclear weaponry units, and munitions industry to hasten their readiness for war in response to what state media describes as “confrontational actions by the US.” KCNA, the North Korean news agency, reported that during a crucial meeting of the country’s ruling party on Wednesday, Kim emphasized plans to broaden collaboration with “anti-imperialist independent” nations while discussing policy directions for the upcoming year.

“He (Kim) set forth the militant tasks for the People’s Army and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons and civil defence sectors to further accelerate the war preparations,” KCNA said.

It was mentioned that this action was a response to unprecedented “(anti-North Korea) confrontational moves by the US and its affiliated forces.”

According to Sky News, North Korea has been enhancing its connections with Russia, among other nations. This comes as Washington accuses Pyongyang of providing military assistance to Moscow for its conflict with Ukraine.

Amid concerns that North Korea might initiate a military or cyber-attack ahead of South Korean parliamentary elections in April and the US presidential election in November, South Korea has pledged a firm response to any provocations from the North. President Yoon Suk Yeol visited a frontline military unit in Yeoncheon on Thursday to assess its defense readiness and urged immediate retaliation in case of North Korean provocations.

Observers suggest that Kim Jong Un may intend to use an augmented arsenal as a bargaining chip in potential negotiations with Washington, possibly following the US presidential election next year.

At the party plenum, Kim also outlined economic objectives for the upcoming year, labeling it a “decisive year.”

The Workers’ Party gathering is anticipated to span multiple days, with state media expected to release details of its discussions after its conclusion, likely on December 31.

Experts anticipate that North Korea will make commitments to bolster its nuclear offensive capabilities and expand partnerships with Russia and China, both embroiled in separate conflicts with the US.
