Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Chibok: 11 Dead, One Abducted

Armed Boko Haram militants dressed as soldiers raided Gatamarwa and Tsiha near Shikarkir communities in Borno State, resulting in the tragic deaths of 11 individuals and the abduction of a woman whose name has been withheld.

These attackers, who were disguised, seized food supplies and livestock without encountering any resistance.

This recent assault occurred just a fortnight after insurgents launched a similar attack in Chibok, resulting in the deaths of two people, extensive property looting, and arson.

Furthermore, during the Yuletide period, suspected terrorists destroyed 33KVA power lines/towers between the Auno-Maiduguri and Gujba axis, severing the connection between Yobe and Borno states and the national grid.

The assault on Gatamarwa took place around 5 p.m. on January 1, 2024, amidst the New Year’s Day celebrations.

A community member, Mallam Wakil Aliyu described the attackers as “heavily armed with AK47 rifles and a mix of vehicles and motorcycles, who first opened fire on some people who were returning from mourning in Gatamarwa, before later attacking another Tsiha community near Shikarkir and killing three people with the abduction of a young lady.”
