Denmark has initiated visa applications for both skilled and unskilled foreign workers, encompassing various professions such as teachers, welders, mechanics, among others.
The country, facing a shortage of labor across multiple sectors, is actively seeking foreign workers to fill critical job vacancies, as acknowledged by authorities in their efforts to combat this shortage.
In an effort to address the ongoing labor deficit, the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) introduced this program, aiming to attract foreign workers, as confirmed by Schengen Visa Info.
Commencing from January 1, 2024, the visa applications have been made available for individuals listed on the updated Positive Lists, comprising graduates and skilled workers.
The revised Positive List for Higher Education now encompasses 72 job titles, while the Skilled Work Positive List includes 38 professions.
Key inclusions in the Higher Education Positive List comprise roles such as military officers, logistics and product management heads, biologists, mechanical and environmental engineers, quality engineers, business intelligence managers, specialist consultants, marketing professionals, IT programmers and developers, system administrators, legal counsel, and communication consultants.
Additionally, significant additions to the Skilled Work Positive List feature occupations like plumbers, technical designers, sales consultants, HR assistants, bricklayers, welders, metal workers, shipbuilders, service technicians specializing in iron and metal, and industrial mechanics.
