NiMet Forecasts Three-Day Sunshine, Hazy Weather

NiMet’s weather forecast for the upcoming weekend across Nigeria anticipates sunny and hazy conditions from Friday to Sunday. The agency predicts a slight dust haze in the northern region on Friday during this period. Additionally, they expect a sunny and hazy atmosphere in the north-central region throughout this time frame.

In the inland cities of the south, NiMet foresees sunny skies with some cloudy patches in a hazy atmosphere. Furthermore, coastal cities in the south might experience isolated thunderstorms in parts of Ogun, Edo, Ondo, Lagos, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa states during the afternoon and evening periods.

“For Saturday, a slight dust haze is expected over the north and the North Central region during
the forecast period.

“Few patches of clouds in a hazy atmosphere are expected over the inland cities of the South and coastal belt, with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ogun and Lagos State in the morning hours.

“There are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ondo State, Ogun, Lagos State, Rivers,
Edo, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Delta in the afternoon and evening periods,” it said.

NiMet’s forecast extends to Sunday, predicting a continuation of the sunny and hazy atmosphere in the northern region during this period. The agency expects a slight dust haze to persist over the North Central region throughout the forecast period.

Additionally, they foresee a hazy atmosphere with a few patches of clouds in both the inland areas and coastal cities of the South. Moreover, NiMet predicts isolated thunderstorms in parts of Edo, Lagos State, Cross River, Rivers, Bayelsa, and Delta during the afternoon and evening periods.
