Wilfred Ndidi, the midfielder for Super Eagles, faces a three-month absence owing to a muscle injury. Initially selected for the Nations Cup squad, Ndidi was replaced by Alhassan Yusuf due to this injury.
He missed Leicester City’s recent win against Huddersfield Town and is now set for an extended period on the sidelines. Leicester City’s manager, Enzo Maresca, has disclosed the possibility of Ndidi being unavailable for approximately three months.
Maresca said: “The players who are injured are all progressing well, “Jamie Vardy, Kasey McAteer, Dennis Praet, Will Alves, Kele (Kelechi Iheanacho) and Wilfred Ndidi. They are still in the same situation.
“Probably for Ndidi, it will be a long time. It could be three months. It looks like a muscle problem, but an important one. We’ll see in the next few hours. The situation for Wilf is the clearest one.”
Leicester City’s pursuit for promotion suffers a significant setback with Ndidi’s absence. The defensive midfielder, pivotal for the Foxes, boasts four goals and six assists across 24 appearances in various competitions. Additionally, the Argentine manager shared an update on Kelechi Iheanacho, another Super Eagles star currently grappling with match fitness issues.
