Dr. Solomon Arase, the chairman of the Police Service Commission, announced the establishment of a situation room to oversee the current recruitment process.
Ikechukwu Ani, the head of the commission’s Press and Public Relations, mentioned in a statement that the retired Inspector General of Police, Dr. Arase, led the formation of this recruitment situation room located at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Arase reportedly said: “Although there were the usual early teething problems, reports from the Commission’s team lead in the states confirmed that the exercise was up and already running. The Commission is handling the credentials screening while the officers of the Nigeria Police Force are handling the physical.”
As per the statement, representatives from the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Federal Character Commission, the Police Trust Fund, and police colleges are present at the locations. This screening marks the initial formal interaction between candidates and the commission’s officers and the police.

Additionally, the Police Service Commission has allocated specific telephone lines and social media platforms for Nigerians to voice their complaints or acquire essential information regarding the ongoing recruitment process.
