The Police Service Commission, PSC, announced yesterday that the recruitment of Nigerians into the constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force will begin today across the federation. Successful applicants will undergo both physical and credentials screening thereafter.
This recruitment follows the six-week period after receiving applications, in compliance with the guidelines set by the Federal Character Commission, FCC.
Arase encouraged the staff to maintain professionalism, integrity, and take on this responsibility with awareness, as their actions have the potential to extend far beyond the current circumstances.
“As staff of the commission, you are entrusted with a job that carries the weight of our nation’s aspirations for a just and secure future.
“This recruitment assumes paramount significance as the first conducted by the commission since the landmark Supreme Court judgment of July 20, 2023, that reaffirmed the primacy and exclusivity of the commission in recruiting for the Nigeria Police Force.
“We stand at the precipice of a new era, and it is our solemn duty to ensure that this exercise establishes the good standard for future recruitments,” he said.
He emphasised to the commission’s staff that the public’s vigilant attention would closely observe their actions, requiring steadfast dedication and commitment to the values of fairness and justice.
