The Presidency denied claims that President Bola Tinubu provided cash to National Assembly members for distributing to their constituencies during the festive period.
According to the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the President allocated rice and other food items as palliatives, alongside Constituency Projects valued at N100 million per Federal Constituency and N200 million per Senatorial Constituency.
These items were sourced through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and delivered to NASS members, considered close to ordinary Nigerians nationwide.
Dismissing suggestions of hoarding, Olusegun clarified that distribution delays were due to logistical reasons, urging Nigerians to ignore any misinformation or propaganda suggesting otherwise.
