NiMet, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, predicts a nationwide dust haze from Thursday to Saturday. The weather outlook, issued in Abuja on Wednesday, anticipates visibility ranging from 2Km to 5Km across the northern region, North Central states, and Inland states during this period.
Additionally, early morning mist or fog is expected along the coastal region, while moderate dust haze with a visibility range of 2Km to 5Km is envisaged over the coastal belt in the afternoon and evening hours.
“On Friday, a slight dust haze is expected over the northern region and North Central states throughout the forecast period.
“Moderate dust haze with visibility range of 2Km to 5Km is expected over the inland states and the coastal belt during the forecast period.
“For Saturday, sunny and hazy atmosphere is expected over the northern region throughout forecast period,” it said.
The agenda highlights the suspension of dust particles, advising the public to take necessary precautions. NiMet suggests individuals with asthma and respiratory concerns exercise caution in the current weather conditions. Furthermore, it encourages airline operators to stay informed through NiMet’s weather reports for effective operational planning.
