The British Council in Nigeria has announced a second fee hike for the IELTS examination within a span of five months. According to a recent statement on its official website, starting from February 1, 2024, the fees for both computer academic and general training modules will be raised to N139,000.
The council cited the increasing examination costs as the reason for this adjustment.
“We would like to inform you that our IELTS fees have been reviewed. The new price list of the IELTS range of tests offered by the British Council will be effective for registrations on or after February 1 2024,” it stated.
The most recent fee increase occurs merely five months after the last adjustment in September 2023, during which the fee escalated from a range of N80,000 to N90,000 to its current amount of N107,500.
