In the third quarter of 2023, the Nigerian Railway Corporation recorded a revenue of N1.49 billion from passenger services, marking a 108.25% surge from the N715.09 million generated in the same period of 2022, according to the National Bureau of Statistics Rail Transportation Data released in Abuja on Thursday.
Additionally, revenue from goods and cargo in Q3 2023 amounted to N286.78 million, reflecting a significant 181.58% increase compared to Q3 2022’s N101.84 million. The report also highlighted a rise in the number of rail passengers to 594,348 and an increase in transported goods to 81,963 tons, compared to 33,312 tons in Q3 2022.
