Akpabio Warns Nigerians Of Fake Senate Loan Scam

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio’s office has cautioned the public about a fraudulent online loan application circulating on social media platforms.

The misleading offer titled “N200,000 Palliative Loan By the Senate” falsely associates Senator Akpabio with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s logo and coat of arms. Shared on Facebook under the account Templeshort, this deceptive scheme falsely promises instant loan approval.

The public is urged to disregard the advertisement, as it is not endorsed by the Office of the President of the Senate but is instead a ploy by fraudsters to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians.

The President of the Senate’s official spokesperson, Hon Eseme Eyiboh, underscored that the Senate has no connection to Templeshort and disclaims any association with any Facebook account using that name. Additionally, the President of the Senate is not engaged in any loan programs or palliative arrangements.

“Senator Godswill Akpabio is not collaborating with the CBN or any other financial institution on any loan facility as a form of palliative,” Hon Eyiboh stressed.

The public is strongly advised to exercise caution and vigilance in the face of these criminal elements who employ deceitful methods to target unsuspecting Nigerians.

“The advertisement and similar ones claiming to be sponsored online by the Senate for loans or palliative measures are false. There is no such loan or palliative initiative within the office of the President of the Senate or under the name of Senator Godswill Akpabio

Hon Eyiboh urges the public to dismiss such scams and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
