Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to engage in a friendly match against Argentina in March. The Argentinian Football Association (AFA) revealed the fixture via a statement on its website early on Tuesday.
As part of their “friendly tour of China” from March 18 to 26, the reigning world champions will take on Nigeria in the inaugural game at the Olympics Sports Center stadium in Hangzhou.
The specific date for the match is still pending. Additionally, Argentina plans to face Ivory Coast in Beijing as their second game concluding the tour.
“The Argentine National Team already knows the rivals it will face in the friendly tour of China, to be played from March 18 to 26,” the statement reads.
“Lionel Scaloni’s team will face Nigeria at the Olympics Sports Center stadium in Hangzhou.
“The second match will be against the Ivory Coast at the Workers’ Stadium in Beijing.
“The date of both meetings will be announced in the next few hours.”
The Eagles are currently competing in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast and have advanced to the quarterfinals. They are scheduled to play against Angola on Friday.
Meanwhile, Argentina, the reigning world champions, secured their third world title by defeating France in the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
