The head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, has not yet decided on the goalkeeper for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final against Angola.
The first-choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, recovered from a mild ligament injury sustained in the Round of 16 and has resumed full training. Peseiro will make a final decision on Nwabali’s availability later today.
“We will do the final test on Thursday (today). After that we will decide whether he can start or not,” Peseiro told reporters.
“But we are confident in the other goalkeepers in the team. We have Francis Uzoho and Olorunleke Ojo. They are capable of replacing Stanley.”
