Yesterday, a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, handed a six-month jail term to Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin, an actress, for spraying and stepping on new Naira notes at a social event in Lagos.
Initially pleading not guilty to two charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on February 13, 2023, she later changed her plea to guilty due to overwhelming evidence.
The court, presided over by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, granted her bail on February 15, 2023, but upon the guilty plea, sentenced her to six months imprisonment starting Thursday, with an option to pay a N300,000 fine into the federation’s consolidated revenue account.
