The Delta State Government, on Friday, reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law. Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, the new Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, expressed this during his inaugural press interaction, assuring that the ministry would tirelessly strive for the effective implementation of the state’s criminal justice and civil justice laws.
Ohwovoriole said: “Rule of law will be adhered to very strictly; The law does not respect anybody. It is all about rule of law. In every civilized environment where we want to coexist, rule of law is the foundation, the lifeblood of any successful economy.”
He emphasized that “What we want to achieve here is strict adherence to the rule of law” adding that the government “is all about anti corruption, focus, achievements, welfare and with your cooperation, we will deliver.”
On staff discipline in the ministry, the Attorney General said: “We have rules in place already and l don’t think l am here to change them. What will override are the civil service rules that are in place for many years.”
