A terrorist group reportedly abducted over 55 individuals who were accompanying a bride in Damari town, Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State. While security agencies have not officially confirmed the incident, a resident shared in a Friday phone call with Channels Television that the event occurred around 8:00 pm on Thursday. Sadly, three security volunteers lost their lives during the rescue attempt.
“Before the hoodlums attack the victims on a canter vehicle, the victims were initially over 70 mostly friends to the bride in which several others escaped”, he added.
Sabuwa, aside from its role as an agricultural region, stands as one of the forefront local government areas contending with the challenges posed by bandits and their collaborators, primarily informants to the bandits.
