A tragic incident unfolded early Saturday in Kabeama, Sagbama Local Government, as a young man named Tony reportedly beheaded his girlfriend, identified as Miss Maxuel Ebibraladei. The details of the incident were unclear, but the victim, a mother from Amatolo in the Southern Ijaw council area, was discovered headless between 2 am and 3 am by neighbors.
The alleged perpetrator, also the father of her child, was apprehended by the community and handed over to the police, currently detained at the State CID. The deceased’s body has been placed in the morgue at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.
A community source said“The suspect was apprehended by residents of Kabeama and handed over to the police to avert possible reprisal attack from the kinsmen of the deceased woman.”
The source who spoke anonymously however added: “We don’t know what happened between the two lovers that would make him cut off the head of his girlfriend and mother of his child.
“They two of them are the quiet and easygoing type. We are at a loss as to what went wrong. The headless corpse of the lady was evacuated and deposited at the mortuary of Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa on Saturday while the arrested boyfriend is in custody of the police in Yenagoa.”
