The upcoming inauguration of the Ijaw Publishers Forum, IPF, received a significant boost as Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, accepted the invitation to chair the ceremony scheduled for February 29, 2024, in Warri, Delta State.
Chief Pondi’s decision to preside over the event came after a delegation of IPF members, led by its President Comr. Ozobo Austin of Congress Newspaper, visited Tantita’s office in Warri.
Among the IPF members present were Pst. Akemotubo Arex of Waffi TV, Hon. Tamsokunbiri MMD of Parliament Newspaper and Rich & Famous magazine, Prince Perez Klint of Iduwini Voice, and Mr. Abai Francis of PENGlobal.
Expressing his support for the IPF, Chief Pondi praised the unity of the Ijaw Publishers and pledged his full backing for the Forum’s inauguration.
Chief Pondi emphasized that the Ijaw people, like other ethnic groups in Nigeria, are often misunderstood and wrongly labeled as militants by outsiders. He highlighted the importance of the IPF in reshaping the narrative and showcasing the progress of the Ijaw Nation through mainstream media platforms owned by its sons and daughters.
He encouraged IPF members to remain committed to rebranding the Ijaw Nation and contributing to its growth both regionally and nationally.
President Ozobo, speaking on behalf of the Forum, expressed gratitude to Chief Pondi for Tantita Security Services’ support to indigenous media platforms and assured stakeholders in the Niger Delta region that the IPF would uphold its commitments. He also appealed for ongoing support from other stakeholders in the region for Ijaw Publishers.
