Nollywood veteran Kanayo O Kanayo has urged parents to be cautious about accepting money from their children without knowing its source. He delivered this advice at a recent event, emphasizing the importance of questioning their children about the origins of their possessions. Kanayo highlighted the risk of inadvertently encouraging corrupt behavior in their children by not being vigilant.
He particularly warned against accepting expensive gifts from children who are not financially independent.
“Your daughter is 20, she is using a phone of N1.5 m, then she gives you N100,000 and you fail to ask questions about the source. You wouldn’t live long,” Kanayo said,
“That is what is killing a lot of parents. Your son who is not working returns home with some money or a car, and you do not ask questions. I’m warning you.”
