As anxiety increases regarding the rumored demise of the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof.) Chike Edozien, the Palace stated on Thursday that the esteemed traditional ruler is hospitalised and not dead.
Ogbueshi Ndili, Palace Secretary, provided this clarification during a phone call.
“His Royal Majesty is only hospitalized. If the worse comes to the worse, we will make it open”, Ndili said.
In the early hours of Thursday, rumors circulated that the 99-year-old monarch, who is set to turn 100 on July 28 this year, had passed away, leading to anxiety in Asaba.
