The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, extended congratulations to Senator Douye Diri, and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor, on their inauguration for a second term on Wednesday.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba on the same day, Governor Oborevwori praised Diri’s re-election, highlighting its significance. He commended Diri for his vision of prosperity for the people of Bayelsa, emphasizing its potential to foster sustainable growth and development in the state.
Oborevwori said that the “overwhelming victory and peaceful conduct of the election” would spur Governor Diri to do more for Bayelsans who massively gave him a resounding mandate.
He commended Diri for his message of unity and for deepening transparency and accountability in governance.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate Governor Douye Diri and his amiable and loyal Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor, on their inauguration for second term in office for a second term.
“The Bayelsa Governorship election of November 11, 2023, testified to your undying and patriotic resolve to put the interest of the people before other primordial ones.
