Liverpool are set to travel to the Czech Republic to take on Sparta Prague in the round of 16 of the 2023/24 Europa League.
In the Europa League last 16 draw, three-time champions Liverpool were paired with Sparta Prague, while unbeaten Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen will face Qarabag.
Under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance, Liverpool are expected to be strong contenders as they aim for multiple titles in Klopp’s final season as manager.
The first leg is scheduled to take place in Prague on March 7, followed by the return leg at Anfield a week later.
Bayer Leverkusen, managed by Xabi Alonso, are undefeated in 32 matches this season and will meet Qarabag once again, having previously defeated them in the group stage.
West Ham, last year’s Europa Conference League winners, will face Freiburg, renewing their rivalry after two victories against the Bundesliga club in the group stage.
AC Milan, seven-time European champions, will continue their pursuit of a maiden Europa League title against Slavia Prague following their play-off win over Rennes.
Rangers, the current leaders of the Scottish Premiership and runners-up in 2022, will take on Benfica, who are seeking their first European trophy since 1962.
Brighton, representing the Premier League, will embark on their debut European journey against last season’s Europa League runners-up, Roma.
