Chief Barrister Smooth, the renowned Ijaw music icon, known as the “Paddle of Niger Delta,” is set to perform live at the Inauguration ceremony of the Ijaw Publishers Forum on February 29, 2024.
The event will take place at Chief Tunde Smooth’s Playground, located opposite Barrack junction, Warri, Sapele road, Warri, Delta State.
Despite being newly established, the Ijaw Publishers Forum has gained prominence, with influential figures in the Ijaw community supporting its cause.
Guests can expect an entertaining performance from the music maestro, as various activities are planned to engage participants.
The event aims to raise awareness and introduce Ijaw-owned media outlets to guard against media manipulation and conspiracy targeting Ijaw and Niger Delta freedom.
During the inauguration, the IPF will also take a stand against what it describes as the conspiracy and criminalization of the Ijaw and Niger Delta struggle for emancipation and resource control by foreign media.
The Forum criticizes foreign media for lacking objectivity in covering Niger Delta’s confrontation against suppression, marginalization, balkanization, and internal slavery.
They pledge to closely monitor and counter any such conspiracy aimed at frustrating Ijaw and Niger Delta freedom by foreign media and the government.
