Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, extended his congratulations to Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, on the occasion of his 59th birthday.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor commended Elumelu, who had represented Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, for his outstanding contributions as a legislator.
The governor also lauded Elumelu’s notable role in the Nigerian Parliament, particularly highlighting his impactful involvement in the investigation of the power sector several years ago.
Governor Oborevwori said: “As a lawmaker, you were outstanding; even outside the Parliament, you remained a leading light and a role model for budding politicians.
“As a state, we will continue to be proud of your insightful contributions to the expansion and advancement of our nation, especially your involvement in the growth of the power and health sectors during your leadership of the House’s committees on both subjects from 2007 to 2010 and 2011 to 2015.
“We are absolutely proud of your leadership role in the National Assembly when you led the opposition as Minority Leader, and it is our prayer that God will continue to grant you good health and more years ahead.
“I can attest to your sterling accomplishments in terms of infrastructural and human capital development and these laudable achievements will continue to inspire many in nation building.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I join your family and admirers to congratulate you, my dear brother and friend, Hon. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, OON, on the occasion of your 59th birth anniversary.
