FG Dismisses Coup Scare Reports, Says Its Disinformation

Yesterday, the Federal Government refuted a report suggesting a coup scare in the country, labeling it as entirely false and a malicious act of disinformation. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, dismissed the report as a creation of those seeking to destabilize the nation and undermine the current administration.

He emphasized that the government remains focused on its reforms to revitalize the economy and ensure prosperity for all citizens, and will not be swayed by such attempts to distract or intimidate. Idris highlighted the use of fake news by certain individuals to erode public trust and sow discord, and assured that the government will utilize legal means to address any actions that threaten national security or democracy.

He called on the public to be discerning and avoid spreading the baseless report, which he noted was being strategically disseminated on certain news platforms to undermine the nation’s democracy.
