Inter Miami Cruise Past Orlando As Messi Scores 500th League Goal

Lionel Messi has achieved another impressive milestone in his storied career by scoring his 500th league goal with Inter Miami during their match against Orlando City on Saturday. Despite Orlando’s status as strong contenders for the MLS Cup, they were outplayed by Inter Miami.

Despite initial concerns about his form, Suarez, who was the top scorer for Gremio in Brazil last season, showcased his enduring prowess in front of goal.

“I’m very happy for him, that he was able to score. We were calm anyway, we know what Luis is and what he is capable of doing and everyone knows it,” Messi said.

“He is like that, when you least expect it he solves a game for you like he did today, with the goals and the assists.”

Suarez wasted no time in putting Inter Miami ahead, scoring his first goal for the club just four minutes into the game with a powerful first-time shot from a low cross by Julian Gressel. He quickly doubled his tally seven minutes later, again assisted by Gressel, demonstrating his composure in front of goal.

Throughout the match, Inter Miami controlled the game, with the crowd enjoying Messi’s skillful touches. However, it was Suarez, Messi’s former Barcelona teammate, who made the biggest impact on the scoreboard.

Robert Taylor extended Inter Miami’s lead to 3-0 in the 29th minute after a brilliant pass from Gressel found Suarez, who unselfishly set up Taylor for an easy tap-in.

Messi showcased his trademark free-kick ability, hitting the upright from 30 yards out, and later provided a sublime through ball to Suarez for another goal. Unfortunately, Suarez’s hopes for a hat-trick celebration were dashed by an offside call.

Orlando made a spirited effort to get back into the game after halftime, but their hopes were dashed when Martin Ojeda’s goal was disallowed for offside.
