False Narrative Unveiled: Who’s Responsible For Army Commander, Soldiers’ Deaths In Delta Gun Duel?

The Okoloba Federated Community (OFC) in a startling revelation, has uncovered a deliberate distortion of facts surrounding the tragic deaths of army officers and soldiers in a recent gun duel. Contrary to Vanguard newspaper’s misleading report, it was not irate Ijaw youths who perpetrated this heinous act but rather a neighboring Urhobo community, Okuama, in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State.

The OFC’s chairman, Mr. Clement Koki in a statement signed and made available to pressmen, vehemently refutes Vanguard’s narrative, clarifying that the confrontation occurred between soldiers and Okuama Community youths, not within two Ijaw communities as falsely depicted. The chronicle of aggression from the Urhobo-Okuama community, including recent kidnappings and murders, has long been known to Delta State authorities and security agencies.

Despite efforts by the Delta State Government to broker peace, Okuama’s defiance and repeated acts of violence, including the kidnapping and murder of Okoloba community members, have escalated tensions. The OFC, in an urgent appeal, calls on both state and federal governments, as well as law enforcement agencies, to intervene and prevent further bloodshed.

The OFC’s chairman, Mr. Clement Koki, urges media organizations, especially Vanguard, to retract their false reports and apologize for the misrepresentation. He also commends the Governor of Delta State for his efforts in maintaining peace and implores the federal government to address the escalating situation in Delta State.

In the wake of this tragedy, the OFC extends condolences to the families of the fallen officers and soldiers while emphasizing the urgent need for government intervention to protect the peace-loving Okoloba Ijaw community from further harm.

As tensions mount and truth unravels, Okoloba Federated Community stands united in its quest for justice and peace in the face of adversity.
