Manchester City have suffered a setback with both Kyle Walker and John Stones ruled out of Sunday’s crucial match in the Premier League title race against Arsenal.
Both players sustained injuries while on international duty with England, with Walker suffering a hamstring problem during a defeat to Brazil, and Stones limping off with an adductor issue in a draw with Belgium.
City, currently third in the league, just a point behind leaders Arsenal, will also miss the defensive duo in the upcoming Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid. However, there is some good news for City as Ederson, Manuel Akanji, Jack Grealish, and Kevin De Bruyne are set to return from injury.
De Bruyne, who has had an injury-plagued season, has still managed to contribute significantly when fit, providing 12 assists and scoring twice in 12 appearances. City’s formidable home record, unbeaten in 38 games in all competitions since November 2022, adds to their strength as they aim to defend their title and pursue success in multiple competitions.
