The Delta State Government in a bid to support skilled workers, has announced the commencement of applications for the 2024 MORE Grant Scheme, specifically targeting artisans aged 21 to 50 years old.
The Honourable Commissioner for Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl-Child Development, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, has approved the collection of application forms, which will be available at the Secretariat of each of the 25 Local Government Councils in the state on Monday, 22nd and Tuesday, 23rd April, 2024, from 11am to 2pm.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Coomunication, Mrs. Theresa Oliko, that applicants are required to present a valid means of identification such as the National Identity card, Permanent Voter’s card, National Driver’s license, or international passport. Additionally, applicants must be indigenes of Delta State and the local government area where the form is collected, as well as residents of their local government area of origin.
It is stated that artisans who have previously benefitted from any Delta State Government grant or intervention programme are not eligible to apply.
The statement also mentioned that submission of filled application forms will close on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, by 3pm, at the Local Government Secretariat where the form was collected.
According to the Director, the initiative is aimed to empower artisans in the state and enhance economic development at the grassroots level.
