The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has clarified that it is currently not undertaking any recruitment exercises and has cautioned Nigerians to remain vigilant to avoid falling prey to deceitful schemes.

This clarification was issued in a public notice provided to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja. The commission stated that it has been alerted to various false and malicious social media reports suggesting ongoing recruitment activities, which contravene the Federal Character Principle.

The notice highlighted that since assuming office on October 16, 2023, the Registrar-General of CAC, Hussani Magaji, has been addressing a range of challenges, including the backlog of promotions and other welfare-related matters. To enhance staff welfare, Magaji resolved issues concerning the 2022 promotions following approval from the appropriate supervisory authority as mandated by the law.

“During the exercise, many qualified candidates were promoted to the executive and non-executive cadres in accordance with provisions of the law.

“Similarly, the commission followed due process to regularise the status of contract staff inherited by the present management and injected fresh hands to meet up with the present administration’s target deliverables.

“The measure is also in line with the commission’s determination to ensure timely and prompt responses to customer complaints and inquiries in line with global best practices,” it said.

The notice affirmed that the CAC, as a government agency committed to upholding the law, would never initiate such significant initiatives without obtaining necessary approvals and certifications from the relevant enforcing agencies.

It emphasized that under the leadership of Magaji, the CAC has prioritized staff welfare as part of its four-point agenda.
