PDP Set To Elect 25 State Chairmen July 13

At a March 26 meeting in Abuja, the party’s National Working Committee announced the assessment of the tenure of 26 state chairmen.

The Peoples Democratic Party is set to conduct congresses in 25 states on July 13 to elect new chairmen and executive members. These states include Edo, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Rivers, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Jigawa, Niger, Benue, Nasarawa, Gombe, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ondo, Ekiti, and the Federal Capital Territory.

At a March 26 meeting in Abuja, the party’s National Working Committee announced the assessment of the tenure of 26 state chairmen. Consequently, caretaker committees were appointed on March 29 to oversee party affairs in 21 states for three months.

Following the 98th NEC meeting, the party approved a timetable for state congresses. This timetable includes the sale of nomination forms from June 3 to June 17, with the submission deadline on June 21. Ward congresses are scheduled for June 29, with appeals on July 2. Local Government Area Congresses are set for July 6, and State Congresses will be held on July 13. Appeals from the state congress conduct will be addressed on July 17.

The NWC will endorse all elected executives on July 24, followed by the 99th NEC meeting on August 15 to finalize the process. This timetable and schedule of activities were ratified during the 98th NEC gathering, as confirmed by the PDP National Organizing Secretary.

Bature stated, “Yes, the document is genuine. The timetable and schedule of activities were approved during the NEC meeting. The sale of forms and other activities will take place at the headquarters in Abuja and at various states.”
