In a harrowing incident in the early hours of Thursday 25th of April, at the Ekpan axis of Uvwie LGA, Chief Barrister Bosin Ebikeme, a prominent figure in Delta State politics and the Pioneer Commissioner for transport in Delta State and one time special adviser on Petroleum Matters, was to fall victim to a brazen attack by armed robbers.
The assailants, numbering approximately seven, stormed Chief Ebikeme’s residence under the cover of darkness.

According to Chief Ebikeme, who recounted the terrifying ordeal to Waffi TV, the armed robbers infiltrated the compound by breaching the perimeter fence.
Once inside, they subdued the gatekeeper. However, their nefarious plans were thwarted by Police operatives on duty in Ekpan Police Station who responded swiftly to the distress call on the attack
Officers from the Ekpan police station arrived promptly, deploying two vans to confront the criminals. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in the death of one of the robbers. The remaining assailants, recognizing the overwhelming force against them, fled the scene.
The courageous intervention of the Ekpan police station prevented further harm to Chief Ebikeme and his household. Authorities are currently investigating the incident and pursuing leads to apprehend the fleeing perpetrators.
