In an effort to maintain cleanliness and combat environmental hazards, the Delta State government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for April will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Despite the ongoing Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations, there will be no restrictions on movement during this period.

Residents undertaking interstate journeys and individuals engaged in essential duties are exempt from the sanitation exercise.
Mr. Ejiro Jamani, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, emphasized the importance of residents’ participation in the exercise. He urged them to clear overgrown weeds, desilt drainages, and maintain cleanliness within a 20-meter radius of their premises to prevent the spread of diseases.
Officials from the Delta State Waste Management Board, local government councils, and other relevant authorities will be deployed to ensure the proper disposal of waste collected during the sanitation exercise.
